Overview

Before it became a college, the College of Information Sciences and Computing was first known to be the Institute of Computer Applications (ICA) of the College of Engineering which offers Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program since June of 2005. Since it is a department, it is headed by a Director with similar function to a department chair and is directly under the office of the Dean of the College of Engineering.   

The BSIT program curriculum that was first offered in June of 2005 was based on the standards of the Information Technology Education (ITE) as promulgated by the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 25 (CMO 25) series of 2001. In S.Y. 2013-2014, the revised curriculum has been implemented based on 
the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 53 (CMO 53) series of 2006.

The proposal of the Institute of Computer Applications to convert from an Institute into a College was approved on April 7, 2021. The new programs are as follows: BS in Computer Science, BS Information Systems, BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing and Postgraduate degree programs in IT. the college also provides new services through the Software Development Department. Along with its conversion, Prof. Kent Levi A. Bonifacio is the designated Dean of he college.

Currently, the College of Information Sciences and Computing is compose of two (2) departments, the academic department of BS Information Technology and non-academic department of Software Development. The Software Development Department will function as a software provider by developing software solutions to address the needs of the university and the community. While the Information Technology Department prepare graduates to address various user needs involving the selection, development, application, interaction and management of computing technologies within an organization. The BSIT program is level III accredited by AACUP.
